trojan that spybot did not detect

Hi folks.

I am infected after running spybot but with another program (xsoftse) the following trojan was detected (fout hits):MediaCodec Zlob Trojan

It says its a x-rated related adult originated trojan. I got this after receiving an innocent looking email---so beware out there.

The purpose of this post to to inform spybot that after a fully updated spybot check, and removal of mostely adware progs, this trojan with four variations then showed up when I ran my XoftSpySE prog.

This is very unusual. Usually, after a spybot check, I get nothing after running an XoftSpySE scan.

Thus, I thought it might be usfull to whoever in spybot sets up its detection progs.

I will keep this XoftSpy window open for a while, just to see if anyone in spybot needs any info, but because it apparently "distributes threats" I am not going to let it do that by running my system much.

Please tell me what you folks need, if anything, and I'll try to accomodate.

Thanks, Diligent

Hello.

When Spybot-S&D does not detect an item zip or rar the file/s and send them to: detections(AT)spybot.info (Replace AT with @)

I have not used XoftSpySE, so my knowledge of the program is limited to XoftSpy previously being on the Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products & Web Sites list. But in future, in order to verify an infection and perhaps add to detections, files would be helpful.

Cheers.

After not getting a reply to this post, I was forced to eliminate the MediaCodec Zlob Trojan by my XoftSpySE prog, which trjan SpyBot did not detect.

It just looked to risky to continue on operating my system.

However, I believe the XoftSpy's eliminated Media Codec Zlob Trojan registry key and values is available in its quarantened files if needed.

Watch out for your emails on this one!

Thanks, Diligent

Just saw your reply tashi. Thanks. Looks like while I was writing my last post, that you were submitting your post. Oh well!

Never did an outgoing "zip" or any rar before, and my outlook express email does not work (I'm having trouble setting it up).

I retrieved the XoftSpySE log. One contains the files names in which this MediaCodec Zlob Trojan was placed. The other appears to--maybe--identify the registry numbers that this trojan used.

However, some private information also appears to be contained therein. No offense to you spybot members, but I would rather not divulge a means by which a hacker or the like could attack my system on this open forum.

Hope that wioll help.

Can I send this type of info to the email address you posted? If not, is there a thread discussing how to zip or rar such info?

Thanks. Diligent
