two different FileAlyzer versions or only one?

I want to use FileAlyzer to help with the analysis of files identified by Spybot (and by other security programs that I use) as being threats, and I have a question that I would like to ask about it.

1.) When I Googled FileAlyzer, I saw many references to FileAlyzer such as "The OpenSBI Edition of FileAlyzer . . . " and to "FileAlyzer (OpenSBI Edition)", etc.

To me, the way it reads from how it's worded, by specifying SBI Edition in the program's name, it seems to suggest that a non-OpenSBI edition is available.

Is that the case? Is FileAlyzer available in two different versions, an OpenSBI version and a non-OpenSBI version?

Thanks.

nickW,

Thank you for the info.

So, basically, . . .

(A.) all versions of FileAlyzer from version 1.6 onward are OpenSBI editions (B.) that is the only way that FileAlyzer currently comes (C.) older versions, prior to version 1.6, are the only versions that were made which are not considered OpenSBI editions.

Correct? Do I have all of that right?

No, not at all. Sorry if I gave you that impression.

The different versions just sort of confused me. That's all. But then I took the time to read through all of the links that you provided, and after doing so, I just wanted to confirm that I grasped it correctly.

So, going back to what I wrote in my previous post, is what I stated correct?

Thanks.

Hi,

Since version 1.6, all versions of FileAlyzer support OpenSBI.
You can download and use old versions (prior to 1.6), without OpenSBI. But they have less functionalities.

Regards.
