Un-Commanded Emails

Recently I got an email from my brother stating that he is receiving email from my account. (details below)

Edit
Removed content of email including email addresses and names.

I have also noticed that every now and then there is email saying "failed delivery". I have run Spybot and nothing was reported. i also ran Spyware Doctor and had a few infections, nothing major though.

Is there something else I should be running or looking at to stop the sending of emails?

Thanks
Chuck

Hello Cagster,

One way spammers can harvest email addresses is when such are posted so that has been removed. ;)

That in itself does not mean much, we may all receive a failed delivery on occasion.

As a first measure change the password to your email account. :)

Has anyone else informed you that they are receiving emails you know you did not send and is the content spam?

Best regards.

No one else that I know of has received an email like that. I will say that I have received emails like that but typically look at the properties before I open them up. As far as the email failure I talked about, it was basically an email that I supposedly sent out to someone else that have a hotmail, gmail, yahoo account that I do not even have in my address book.

Hello Cagster,

The location of the IP in the email header is Seznam.cz
You can look it up at http://www.projecthoneypot.org

What is your operating system, do you have an anti-virus program installed and how is the computer running in general?

Best regards.

I am running Win 7, 64bit, Norton Internet Security/AV and I havent noticed any slowdown or anything like that. By the way, I have changed my Outlook mail account pw.

Hi there,

If you do experience more email issues that concern you someone can take a look at the system.

Just post here in your thread and we will go from there. :)

Best regards. :greeting:
