Unknown problem

When I run a scan with s&d it starts to scan OK but when it gets to the coolWWWsearch the computer crashes ,reboots and then a message appears that the computer has recovered from a serious problem .I have tried several times and the crash always occurs at the same part of the scan

I am runing XP home edition . I tried uninstaling S&D and reinstaling it the problem persists . A couple days ago I purchased Spyware doctor witch found a few infections and treated them ,I then tried to run again a scan with S&D and the same problem occured .Why runing S&D causes the computer to crash always in the same part of the scan ??????

Please helpppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,

Spybot is quite CPU intensive. It is possible that the CPU overheating and the system is shutting down to protect the processor. Make sure that the fans are running and that dust is cleared from any ventilation ports in the case.

The problem can happen in both desktops and laptops, although the problem is more prevalent in laptops.

If you have a laptop with one of the one of the following processors:

- Mobile Pentium III-M
- Mobile Pentium 4-M
- Mobile Pentium 4
- Mobile Pentium M / Centrino
- Mobile AMD

Take a look at following suggestion by 100mill:

If you have a desktop consider opening the case and checking to make sure the CPU heat sink is not too dusty. Doubt that this can be a problem, read the following threads:

problem remains

I have cleaned the filters ,the fans ,and the processor pentium 4 there was a small amount of dust but not much .I tried again runing S&d and the same problem occured . A blue screen appears for a tenth of a second then the computer shuts down and restarts . A notice appears saying that the computer has recovered from a serious error .Still the computer keeps crashing at the same point in the scan .

Let us know the version and latest detection update.

Also list all security programs installed.
