Update issue

Hi, I am having a similar problem in trying to update Spybot 1.6.2 except that I don't even get the list of download places, just a greyed out 'Search' option - see screenshot below:

After a few seconds the updater window closes completely and no updates are taking place. Spybot has been behaving like this for a while now. Any idea what the problem might be?

(I'm also in the UK)

Just to clarify, the version I'm running is Spybot 1.6.2.46

manual update md5 needs update for 12-08-22

Got last weeks md5 on this page

For the current (2012-08-22?) spybotsd_includes.exe I get:

35F5A268A7DB40022617955E60D37C82

in FileAlyzer.

Hope this isn't off-topic, didn't want to start a new one..

Hi ME_28,

Do you mean you manually downloaded the update?

I did this too but nothing happened.

Back on topic, does anyone know why Spybot is not giving me an update list?

Hello,

Then it's not an admin issue.
Could it be that you already have the latest updates?

To see which version number and/or updates of Spybot - Search & Destroy you are using please run Spybot-S&D and choose "Help" --> "About" in the menu bar.
There you can see which version you have and which updates are installed.
It should be version 1.6.2 and the updates from the 2012/08/29.

Hi Sandra,

Thanks for your response. The info does indeed say version 1.6.2.46 with the latest detection update: 29/08/12.

I didn't realise that it was now updating itself automatically. Probably because it's immunizing automatically too. Previously I had to manually immunize after an update.
