updates downloaded as zip files?

hi, im new and have an urgent question

when i download the updates i notice that they are in the update folder in zip format, why are they like that?

How has spybot s&d been updated if they downloaded in zip format? where are the real updates placed?

Misty Ocean:

The updates are downloaded as zipped folders into the Updates folder to save transmission size and download time. Depending on the nature of the update, the downloaded zipped folders are then automatically extracted into one of the following folders during the update process:

• C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Updates\Help
• C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Updates\Includes
• C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Updates\Languages
• C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Updates\Skins
• C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Updates\Updates

Some updates can also cause an execution of a process and update files in the following folders:

• C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy
• C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Plugins
