virtumonde does not delete

last week i purchased from thrift shop a nice presario 916usa laptop with winxp loaded...i understand now why the price was only $4...it was LOADED with unstoppable junk which made it run slow. I loaded the usual things that worked on my computer ...ccleaner, fix-it utilities, system mechanic. Also tried spybot, vundofix, superantispyware, as per instructions posted on spybot forums. All ineffective after reboot....like water rolling off a duck's back.
This is a fun learning project for mee though.....any ideas that will WORK?
