vista sp1 scheduler service not running

when i try to setup a scan schedule spybot is telling me that the task scheduler service is not running. problem is it is running. what am i missing here???

Hello,

Please run Spybot - Search & Destroy and switch to the Advanced mode via the menu item Mode.
Now select 'Settings' - 'Settings' from the navigation bar on the left.
There you will find many options to automate Spybot - Search & Destroy.

mavchen - yep had already done that. am pretty comfortable with setting the auto scan function. have done many times with xp but when i do it on this vista machine in the settings then schedule all buttons are greyed out no ability to do an add edit nothing. says the task scheduler service is not running but again when i checked services in vista scheduler is set to auto start and is started.

Do you have admin rights?
You can only shedule with admin rights.
To get admin rights under Windows Vista:
Right-click the Spybot - Search & Destroy entry in your start menu,
instead of just left-clicking to start it.
Then, choose Run as administrator from the context menu.

spybotsandra - thank you that seemed to work. will the auto scan work now like in xp or does the client need to run the scan manually ???

client is setup as an administrator so not sure why this occured or is this one of vista wonderful newbeeies ???
