Win32.Delf.uv and Hupigon13

I have actually managed to solve the problem myself. Thanks to your excellent education I now understand how to do some things on my own:)

I did a system restore to get the computer to its state before the IE7 installation. Google is fast again. I am puzzled that a failed IE7 installation can cause such a mess?

I have one question. In C:\Windows the IE7 installation folders are still there and highlighted in blue:

$NtServicePackUninstallIDNMitigationAPIs$
$NtServicePackUninstallNLSDownlevelMapping$
$NtUninstallKB904942$
$NtUninstallKB914440$
$NtUninstallKB915865$

Is it safe to delete these folders?

Hi

I assume you had system restore point created after ComboFix uninstalled, right? Just wanted to make sure nothing bad came back :)

Those are backup folders (are normally hidden when show hidden files -option is disabled that's why they appear in blue). I'd leave them there.

No, I did not create a system restore point by myself but apparently windows creates them automatically!? I could go in on today's date in the calendar in 'system restore' and scroll down to exactly where I had started with the IE7 installation. The other fixes, updates and uninstalls you guided me through were done yesterday. I installed Avast and Comodo yesterday after the last trojan had been removed and both Avast and Comodo are still there and operating, which must mean that I did not restore back to a trojan infected state, right?

Blessings

Chris

Yes, sounds like things are as they should now. If there's nothing else, please let me know and I'll archive the thread then :)

Computer works very well so no need to keep the topic active any more. Thank you very much for your invaluable help. It is very important to me. Without your help it would not have been possible. May the peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon you.
