Spybot is stuck on my hard drive :(

I can not uninstall Spybot search & destroy from my hardrive

-pop-up...search&destroy/unis000.dat format not recognized by this version

I have problem with spybot since a few month when I click on the icone it take for ever to open and start the searching

I want to unistall it and clean my registry befor reinstall the
latest version but I cannot do it :(

I can I erase spybot completly and make a fresh install???

Since some time I have problem with spybot S&D
when clicking on the short cut it take for ever to
open....

I tried to delete the entire SSD folder but it wont
let me do it...

-pop-up...cannot delete SDHELPER.DLL access is
denied !!!

I whent to the directory and delete everything
with the name spybot search & destroy but still
I cant get rid of the folder.

have the same problem...

Re: Slow start

There were many reports of SpybotSD.exe (version 1.5.1.15) itself starting slowly and consuming a lot of CPU time. The problem has been found and fixed. See the following tracking task (which includes a link for a fix to the problem):

In addition there are another beta versions of Spybot 1.5 that solve the slow start as well as other known problems that have been encountered since the original release of Spybot 1.5. One of them is:

If the cause of your problem is actually a extremely slow start, perhaps that beta version may work better for you.

Re: Cannot delete SDHELPER.DLL

SDHelper.dll is used by Spybot's Resident IE Browser Helper Object (BHO). Before uninstalling you should have stopped the BHO by going into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > Resident and unchecking the following:

• Resident "SDHelper" (Internet Explorer bad download blocker) active.

Since SDHelper.dll is being used by Internet Explorer you have to stop all Internet Explorer sessions and sometimes reboot so that SDHelper.dll is no longer being used.

I have download the 1.5 beta and install it.

I do hope that it cruches the one that I can not delete :(
so next time, if need to be, I will not have the sane problem to uninstall Spybot.
