Question Spybot S&D could not clean these entries. Help!

    Hi
I have Windows 7 Home Premium and I received a suspicious pop-up. I ran a full scan from my Norton anti-virus protection and it did not find anything. Then I ran Spybot S&D 2.2 with administrator privileges and it found a whole bunch of bad files and it was able to clean all but 1 of them. It would not clean Win32.Downloader.gen.
    (default) C:\Users\Royal\AppData\Local\Conduit

I repeated the Spybot scan and received this same message: 'Spybot Search and Destroy could not clean these entries in 3 attempts. We will continue to try so. Do You still want to be informed about the results?'
I restarted my computer and a different pop-up showed up that said:
    'There was a problem starting
    C:\Users\Royal\AppData\Local\Conduit\BackgroundContainer\BackgrounContainer.dll
This specified module could not be found.'

I am not sure if this file is bad or if it is something I need to keep. I am not a computer geek and am not sure what to do.

    Thanks!

Don't worry, that should not be something you need to keep.
What was originally removed had a conduit folder:
    C:\Users\Royal\AppData\Local\Conduit\BackgroundContainer\BackgrounContainer.dll
The error you are getting also involves a file that is in a conduit folder:
    'There was a problem starting
    C:\Users\Royal\AppData\Local\Conduit<-Conduit folder\BackgroundContainer\BackgrounContainer.dll
This specified module could not be found.'

And if you read the manual removal guide for Win32.Downloader.gen you can see the same Conduit folder listed in amongst other things:
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread...Downloader-gen

Okie-doke,since you've already ran Spybot as administrator what you might want to do now is ask for help in malware removal to clean up the remnants of this.

    Please see here:
"BEFORE You POST"(Please read this Procedure Before Requesting Assistance)
    And this is Malware Removal:
