    Today is Safer Internet Day, and with our new forum, you can finally use passkeys to login. That was about time!

    Of course, you could ask if a forum is still useful, with so many social media networks out there where you might already have an account, and met a lot of users. You can now use your login from some of those networks to log in here. And by posting here, your question and data is stored on our servers and not automatically shared with a whole social media network.

    We'll also start using the forum for small bits of information, announcements and more again.

AV disabled, SpyBot doesn't run, all sorts of problems

I think I am infected. Symptoms include:
- AV (avast) disabled, will not run
- Spybot will not run
- various malware removers will not run or install (including Microsoft's)
- ccleaner will not run
- System Restore says "cannot restore"
- Windows Firewall switched off (but I have managed to get that working again)
- cannot get into Safe Mode (I press f8, choose Safe Mode, and I get a Blue Screen)
- HijackThis does not install
All of the programs where I say "does not run" or "does not install": sometimes I get a quick flash of soemthing happening on the screen, but then it goes away; usually there is a simply a little disk activity but then nothing happens.

Please help!

  • Please download ***OTViewIt**** by ***OldTimer**** and save it to your Desktop.
  • Close all applications and windows.
  • Double-click on the ***OTViewIt.exe****to start OTViewIt.
  • Place a checkmark in the blue-colored Scan All Users checkbox.
  • Click the blue Run Scan button.
  • OTViewIt will now start its scan.
  • When the scan is complete, two text files will be created, ***OTViewIt.Txt**** <- this one will be opened in Notepad and ***Extras.txt**** on Desktop.
  • Copy ***(Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C)**** and paste ***(Ctrl+V)**** the contents of ***OTViewIt.Txt**** and the Extras.txt to your post.
