ist es sinnvoll und notwendig, die Daten von Thunderbird (..alle E-Mails) auf einem Rechner mit Windows 7 mit der Verschlüsselung des Betriebssystems zu versehen ?

my answer: it is not normally not necessary unless there are very sensitive data. In that case, encryption might be helpful.
Achso: Normalerweise ist eine Verschlüsselung der Daten nicht notwendig. Bei sehr sensiblen Daten kann es jedoch sinnvoll sein, allerdings wäre mir im privaten Gebrauch kein Fall bekannt.
