My operating system in Win98, and I'm running Spybot 1.3 with the latest detection update (2/28). I knew there was a version 1.4 out but didn't install it because I read about a problem with it (which I forget). Because my operating system is Win98, I have enough problems.Unless you are running Spybot on a Windows 95 system make sure that you are running Spybot 1.4 with the latest updates
The only real problem with Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4 is that it was released with a defect in the GUI of the pop-up for registry changes in the optional TeaTimer 1.4 facility. See:I knew there was a version 1.4 out but didn't install it because I read about a problem with it (which I forget).
The code in Spybot 1.4 (SpybotSD.exe) uses an "EndMenu Function". Windows 95 does not support the "EndMenu Function", Windows 98 does. See:You say "Unless you are running Spybot on a Windows 95 system," and that makes me worry because Windows 98 is so much like Windows 95.
