This is irrelevant to tech and all that. But I just wanted to compliment on the update user-profile. It looks a lot different than the old one, but I'll get the hang of it. Thank you.

Scary. Found hidden theme in SP3.

I was stuck with my Windows XP Zune Theme for some weeks and I decided to change it back to Windows XP default. Oddly enough, the Windows Media Center Theme came up. It was the Royale theme for XP. It was odd. I never recalled downloading such a theme. I'm assuming this theme came with Windows...

I just recently installed AdAware 2008 this afternoon. I updated and plan to run a full scan after a Spybot scan. I've updated Spybot (5.21.08). Problem is that Spybot came up with a message telling me that, it has detected that AdAware is installed and may cause compatibility issues. I have...

    Migration to AVG 7.5

I'm considering "migrating" to back from AVG 8.0 to 7.5. Considering the heavy system memory usage by "avgrsx.exe" by AVG 8.0, I think it might be worth the try.

    How?

I am using an outdated version of a Media Player called InterVideo WinDVD for VAIO (it came with my reformat). It is outdated, because the latest version is version 8. I would like to know how this dated version may affect my computer. Also, will I "pick" up any baddies (viruses, malware, etc.)...

    Coexist?

I was just wondering... I have Spybot-SD's TeaTimer, and WinPatrol 2008 active simultaneously. Will it cause conflicts if I install BoClean from Comodo by the way? If not then I'll only have WinPatrol Plus and BoClean on. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have reformatted my Windows XP Home to start clean for Windows XP SP3 on April 29th. However, when I installed AVG Free 8.0 and ZoneAlarm free (latest edition), my Windows Security Center does not recognize the programs. All I see now is a red colored "shield" on my taskbar. It results remain...

Would you prefer Windows XP or a dish of Vista?

Although this topic may sound outdated... I just wanted to know. I'm tempted to purchase Home Premium for home use... and with all the enhancements and performance improvements, I'm just planning to switch to Vista. What do others think? :santa:

    Infection via thumbdrive?

Just a quick question. Say for example, you plug your "clean" flashdrive into a computer infected the Virtumonde, Smitfraud, and several other rootkits and trojans. You copy a image from the infected computer to your thumbdrive. If you would plug it into your a clean computer, would the...

Registry keys vulnerable found in AVG 8.0

After completing a full scan with AVG 8.0 Free, more than a dozen registry came up. However... the threat counter was at zero. In the results screen, I look up the dozen of registry keys. .db?

What are data base files exactly? I tried to burn files to a disc and it told me that a .db (data base) file was attached to what I was burning or something.
