    Query about updating

I am currently using SSD 1.6.2.46 on Windows XP S3 HE, but some of the following applies also to 1.6.0 and possibly to older versions also. For the record, recent scans have required around 20 to 22 minutes to complete. I have long been troubled by instances in which scans run for twice as...

Version 1.5.2.20 runs much more slowly than version 1.5.1.19

I installed the new SSD version 1.5.2.10 yesterday and was startled by the very long scan time as compared with the just superseded 1.5.2RC1 (=1.5.1.19). On my machine (1.7GHz P4, WinXPSP2 HE, Comodo Firewall 3.0, Comodo Memory Firewall 2.0, AVG Free 7.5.516), with SSD updated to 01/31/2008...

Latest Updates in SSD 1.5.1.17 (beta)

I just downloaded and installed the latest SSD updates (11/14/2007) in version 1.5.1.17 (beta). To my surprise, the immunization lists for Firefox (Cookies, Images, Installations, Popups) are all doubled. I use only the first; the others are unchecked. None of these lists was doubled before...

    Windows.Explorer detect in latest signatures

The latest update (08/11/2006) of the SSD detections reports the presence of Windows.Explorer as a possible threat on my Windows XP Home SP2 system, running SSD 1.4. The Registry key value involved is alleged to control display of the "Log Off" button on the Start menu. On my system, this...

    Suggested added feature in TeaTimer

TeaTimer apparently does not currently monitor the Registry keys that launch various Windows Services. Since such services supply a neat but nasty way to compromise a system, it would be desirable for TeaTimer to watch these. They should be announced by an appropriately worded TeaTimer popup...
