Registry error during 1.5.2 install

I have tried to update from 1.4 to 1.5.2 using the autoupdate. The error message says

Error creating registry key. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.disabled RegCreateKeyEx failed; code 5 Acess is Denied

I aborted the install at this point.

The same error shows up duing an install attempt using the .exe download from the download page.

1.4 seems to be uninstalled by the first attempt to upgrade so what should I do next?

Could it be that you only have user rights and not admin rights on your account?
