New user needs help please, can't connect to internet

Hi,
I just downloaded spybot, ran scans, immunized, etc. I'm getting the same msg when I try to open Firefox or Internet Exployer: "The proxy server is refusing connections" it then says: "check the proxy settings to make sure they are correct" and "contact your network administrator..." I'm a home user, not very computer savy and really need some help!!

If you're using Spybot 2.4,open Spybot Start Center.Checkmark Advanced User Mode,then click Settings(say yes to the UAC prompt,if applicable.),then click the Internet Protection tab.Uncheck Use Spybot Proxy,then click Apply and OK.

Once that closes,click Update,then Click the Update button at the top and let Spybot download updates.

If you still get the "The proxy server is refusing connections" after doing the above,just post back and let me know.
