Adware.Vundo-Variant found on pc and more....?

I have uninstalled ComboFix as requested.

I have removed the old Java Runtime Evironment and updated with new version (I hope)

Internet security levels are as you have written. And will read the reading material you have suggested.

I still have:

OTMoveIt2
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Super AntiSypware Free edition
Spybot Search and Destroy (that does not scan after receiving the updates)
Ad-Aware
(And of course MacAfee)

Should I remove any of the above.

I have problems with Microsoft update as I get an error when trying to update and I have sent a mail to their support requesting assistance.

I have also download Mozilla Firefox and will learn to use this instead!

Should I also make a new System Restore if all virusses are gone or do I have a few more things I need to do?

Do this with OTMoveIt2

  • Make sure you have an Internet Connection.
  • Double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it.
  • Click on the CleanUp! button
  • A list of tool components used in the Cleanup of malware will be downloaded.
  • If your Firewall or Real Time protection attempts to block OtMoveit2 to rech the Internet, please allow the application to do so.
  • Click Yes to beging the Cleanup process and remove these components, including this application.
  • You will be asked to reboot the machine to finish the Cleanup process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.



You can remove these

Super AntiSypware Free edition
Spybot Search and Destroy (that does not scan after receiving the updates)
Ad-Aware


MalwareBytes is good enough to just use by itself



No need to make a new System Restore point, ComboFix did that automatically


Any other questions ?

I can't uninstall Spybot Search and Destroy - it comes up with this error:

Message file "C:Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy/unins000.msg" is missing. Please correct the problem or obtain a new copy of the program.

Sorry for bothering. I wanted to inform you that I was able to remove spybot search and Destroy by installing again and then removing.

My pc has become extremely slow and I don't know if it something that the virus/malware has done to it.

Also as mentioned unable to do the windows update.

Aparently after contacting windows support they informed me that my harddisk might be defect (from the error code that it produced 0x80070017) now the error code has changed to 0x8007041D and I was wondering if something had been corrupted...

Is this something that you have seen before?
 
I wouldn't say it is related to your malware problem, just the hard drive getting old

Not much advice I can give you really, hard drive would be easily replaced
 
Yes the computer is getting older... Would be hard keeping up with the latest all the time.

Will see what the HP customer service desk says about the error codes.
