after installing...

...SpyBot I cannot install other programs anymore...
Gett the message temp file invalid!:blush:
Also I seem to be unable to undo the registry changes SpyBot made
and
the window which opens when SpyBot is activated does not open correctly under Firefox.

My System: Win2000 pro
AntiVir
ZoneAlarm

What can I do?

When you installed Spybot did you install TeaTimer by checking the following item on the Select Additional Tasks screen?

• Use system setting protection (TeaTime)

Are you getting pop-up dialog messages that say?

• Spybot - Search & Destroy has detected an important registry entry that has been changed.

If so how are answering those messages? Is that the window that you said "... does not open correctly ..."?

If you did install TeaTimer, you can disable it until it can be explained. To do that:

• Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > Resident
  • Uncheck (if checked) the following:
    Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) Active.

It appears from your thread (Teatimer und Systemwiederherstellung) in the
Spybot-S&D in deutsch forum that you are aware that you are running TeaTimer and that is the probable cause of the problems you encountered.

Rather than have a conflict of advice between the two threads, I am going to defer to raman in the other thread, if you don't mind.
