Spybot cannnot remove this from my laptop though it does find it.

If you haven't already,please try running Spybot as Administrator,then see if the problems are cleared.
Rightclick the Spybot 1.6.2 icon on your desktop,select Run As Administrator,then run a scan,then do a follow up to see if the problems have cleared.Please let me know how it goes.

Did that and it made no difference as did rerunning spybot on start up.
