Black Screen Reboot after install of updates...

Reboots instantly upon clicking the "Spybot Search & Destroy"
from start > program > spybot S&D menu ,

program won't even start now,
the uninstall says something about using "Recovery" to undo changes
but I'm not sure if that applies to undoing updates
but I suppose it doesn't matter if I can't start the program

a supposedly protected file sfc_os.dll was replaced during the updates
but a copy wasn't in DLLCache so it wasn't "restored"
and this PC didn't come with a windows CD and of all the Windows CD's that I have it said the CD was not a Windows CD

how do I recover from this problem?
 
Never mind about the black screen;
it was the "teatimer" :oops:

I uninstalled & reinstalled the most recent ver. turned off 'teatimer" and it's working now, this machine is so old that "teatimer" runs @ 50% cpu sometimes,
