Looks that we finally nailed it, only one leftover. How is the computer running now?

Open Notepad and copy the following lines into a new document:

Save the document to your desktop as Remove.bat and filetype: All Files
Go to your desktop and run the file Remove.bat and allow to run it if prompted. A window will open and close.

Then update your AVG antivirus database and run a full system scan.

Well I am hoping that cleared things out :lip: I will post again in a couple days to let you know how the computer is running. I will also check to make sure that you have not discovered anything in HJT log. TYVM:eek:

I also recommend that you run a scan with your AVG...

You can remove the tools we used.

Now you can make your hidden files hidden again.
  • Go to My Computer
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
  • Click the View tab.
  • Checkmark the "Display the contents of system folders"
  • Under the Hidden files and folders select "Show hidden files and folders"
  • Check "Hide protected operating system files"
  • Click Apply and then the OK and close My Computer.

Thank You for all your help and hard work. I very much appreciate the time and effort that you put into my problems and other peoples. I read the article that you mentioned and we use a addware/spyware free p2p server soulseek and scan everything before we open it but as far as porn goes it is not accessed in our home. I also down loaded the host file and started using Mozilla is there any way to lock out IE permanently? I did find some items unchecked in spyware blaster and spybot so how, when and where i contracted the issues is still a mystery to me. Keep up the good work :bigthumb:. Hopefully i don't require the services of the spybot team again but if I do am I able to request the person helping? Once again THANKS

All looks good.

One minor thing, you should update your Java to the latest version (6u2)
  • [*]Start
    [*]Control Panel
    [*]Add/Remove Programs
  • Delete the old Java,
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
  • Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u2.
  • Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications."
  • Click the "Download" button to the right.
  • Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement."
  • The page will refresh.
  • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
  • Install it

It is almost impossible to remove IE completely without problems so it is best to keep it on the pc, saves you from many troubles. You can just use FireFox as your default browser..
