Computer shuts down while running Spybot

My computer was shutting itself down at increasing frequency. Adaware didn't detect anything out of the ordinary, so I ran Spybot. When I run Spybot, my computer shuts down before the program completes. The last time I ran it in Safe mode and it got about 3/4 through before shutting down. It was scanning for Zlob.Downloader at the time. I am running Windows XP and do not have SP3 yet. Can you help?
 
After posting this, I continued to search this website and found others with similar problems, so I cleaned my fans and that seems to have helped.
