The more tutorials and forums I read, the less I understand and I have questions:

1. What does it mean/what do I do when I immunize and the result is
>35,000 unprotected whatevers?

2. Is it normal that Spybot S&D take several hours to check the system, or have I done something unspeakable to my pc?

I hope this is the right place for the questions and

The Immunization adds a passive layer of protection to your machine, by adding bad sites to your browser's blocklist. So if you were to visit a bad site by accident, it would be blocked (also prevents you from getting infected).
2. What version of Spybot are you running (Help>About)?
Spybot-Search&Destroy should take around 10-20 minutes at most (the latest version).

Can´t find the version (s) I´m using because the Spybot page>help>about only comes up after I have run the entire check. I don´t see it in my program files either, but I found two .exe files, if that helps:
spybotsd14...exe
spybotsd16...exe

It´s probably right in front of me, but I must be in a serious senior moment.

TeaTimer is not Spybot-Search&Destroy. Look for the icon on your desktop or Start Menu>Programs.
