i have my windows on automatic update - how come it gets out of date?

Having automatic updates enabled should be enough.

i cant seem to remove itunes, i never used it and i don't want it, it doesn't have an uninstall button on the control panel. i thought i had killed it but its still there. did i do something wrong? should i just re-download it then re-uninstall the whole thing?

Probably easiest to do that.

how come deep scans fine norton on my computer? when i first got my computer it came with like a year of norton, which i then uninstalled...does it just never go all the way away?

You can use Norton removal tool to delete remnants.
