Error during check! message

So, I've been running spybot for about 1/2 a year with no probelms, but for the last couple of weeks I've been getting this message (see attached .jpeg) that says "Error during check!" with an exclamation point right next to it "!" in red.

It hasn't found anything now for these couple of weeks...and it seems odd. This same message comes up each time. My websurfing and computer usage has been pretty much the same, though I've been using two freeware/shareware programs for making animated .gifs (banner maker Pro 6 and a Jansoft freeware program called "Movies").

Ok. Now I'd love to hear your thoughts, learned people.

Go into Spybot > Help > About. What version of Spybot are you running?

If you are running Spybot 1.3, I suggest that you upgrade to Spybot 1.4 unless you are running Windows 95. You can find download mirrors here:

I'm running xp. I am running 1.3, but in a few minutes I'll be running 1.4.
We'll see if that helps.
