Need User Feedback: False positive for .NET framework 1.1 SP as PerfectKeylogger?

Hi, Newbie here. This morning S&D caught the following:

12/11/2009 9:29:12 AM Encountered and terminated PerfectKeylogger in C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download\Install\NDP1.1sp1-KB953297-X86.exe!

I think this is the .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 CLR Security Update that my machine will not successfully install.

Ideas?

hello,

please make sure that Spybot S&D is fully updated, then restart TeaTimer:
  • switch to Spybot S&D advanced mode
  • navigate to tools - resident
  • uncheck the check box for resident TeaTimer to deactivate the TeaTimer
  • wait about 1 minute for TeaTimer to completely unload
  • check the check box for resident TeaTimer again to restart the TeaTimer

alternatively to restarting the TeaTimer you can also restart your computer.

If the false positive should reoccur after this, please send the file
C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download\Install\NDP1.1sp1-KB953297-X86.exe
to detections@spybot.info with a reference to this thread.
