Hi

Choose Last Known Good Configuration from Boot Menu and let me know it that worked.

Hi

That seems to be part of Broadcom Corporation Wireless Network software.

So please uninstall and re-install that and let me know how it works after that.

Looked for Broadcom wireless sofware and found none. I have no way to re-install this type of software. The only thing found is the wireless modem on my computer. Not sure what software or uninstall needed to be completed. I am not sure if this is some form of wireless communication as the desk top does not function properly and I am unable to open many programs without them shutting down immediately upon opening. The computer is slow to load and I have noticed the task bar is not configured the way it used to be.

Anything else this could be? Should I re-load the save registery keys?

Thanks again for your assistance.....

Hi

No I don't think that is related to registry keys we removed. Something went wrong, that is sure.

Do you have Windows CD handy? I think repair installation might be best option here.

No windows CD. Dell computer came pre-loaded without any CD. Looked for way to back up but was informed by Dell I could always use computer back up. The error message will load even before I log onto the computer. The error message will appear prior to my log on--don't know if that mean anything other than it seems to be a system related item.

The error message becomes continuous whenever I begin to interface with computer. I will enter ok and the error message will reload almost immediately. I do have a wireless printer. Could that have anything to do with this error message? The error message interferrs with every interface I have with the computer so it is difficult for me to even search for items or search programs.

If you think it is a good idea I will un-install the printer software and attempt to re-load.

Thanks again....

Printer not found in system. Also discovered no internet connection or Network settings for computer. Noticed no wireless connection in task bar but also no evidence of wired network connection. Unable to locate any type of network connections on system. Not sure what the solution is but don't believe printer is the problem. More likely as you stated earlier problem due to wireless connection within computer. The modem is not found on the computer and no back up disk or restore disk. Attempted to use computer restore and received error message advising restore was unable to protect my computer and indicated to reboot and try again. Attempted to reset computer from boot screen again with no luck.

any further suggestions?

Thank you for your patience....

yes but I cannot access it at least by the means I am aware of other than to use the system restore tab located in the program section

Sorry it is late and my last post did not make much sense. What I meant was the only way I know to access it is at the system restore tab located under the all program tabs. I have attempted to access it and it provides an error advising it cannot protect my computer and I should reboot and try again--does not work nor does reset at boot screen.

Hi

If Windows came pre-installed and without CD, there is usually
a recovery partition which you can use for restoring.

This
should help.

Hi

Actually we can try this before that.

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager

Click view and show hidden devices

Find Beep under non plug and play

Right-click it, choose Disable.

Rename beep.sys to beep.sys_ (or anything else than beep.sys, all copies, do a search. One should be in C:\windows\system32\drivers and another in C:\windows\system32\dllcache (if present))

Reboot.

Tell me if it works better now?

Sorry for the delay---needed some rest.

Followed your instruction and problem persists. Should I follow your previous instructions to reset the computer to factory conditions? Will this cause loss of all software and files placed on the computer I installed?

Thanks again for all your help.....

Hi

"Should I follow your previous instructions to reset the computer to factory conditions? Will this cause loss of all software and files placed on the computer I installed?"

Yes, that might be the easiest way here. It will unless you have backups or be able to do backups before that. So I really recommend to take backups before that.

I am sorry to have been vague earlier. Yes I did want to know if you thought my only chance to restore the computer was to use the Dell DSR.

I have tried everything I can think of to back up the windows partition...external hard drive, jump drives and copy to cd. The computer will not copy or move any items in the windows partition either to an external source or to the DSR partition.

Do you have any suggestions?
