How to Exclude files/folders from run-time scans?

How do I Exclude files/folders from run-time scans?
Since installing Spybot S&D 2, my system seems slower when trying to open folders, files.

In "settings" I can see an "Ignore Lists" tab but the list boxes are empty in both "Products" and "Items".
How do I add file types or folders to ignore?
What is the purpose of the "Live Protection" tab?

I am sorry to hear that Live Protection is casing slow down issues on your PC. Do you have any other security programs running real time protection that could be conflicting with the Live Protection scans?

The "Ignore Lists" allows you to ignore items in future scans that have been flagged and marked as potentially malicious by Spybot. Therefore, this window does not allow you to exclude folders, but rather allows you to unflag items that were mistakenly flagged by Spybot during System Scans. This is not related to Live Protection.

I hope that we can include the option to exclude folders etc from LP scans in future version and I will forward this suggestion to our development team.
