I need your help! [Re-Opened]

New member
Three days before,when i launched the internet explorer,an error message informed me about a virus called myzor or something like that which infected my exe files and added values to registry keys.I have norton internet security 2007 installed in my pc but when i ran a system scan i found nothing.I run several scans with other antivirus and anti-spyware programs and i cleaned several threats with these software products.Now,there are no error messages but when i run a scan with "spybot-Search and destroy" once or twice a day,it says that windows security center is disabled and also shows the same settings:HKEY_lOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wscsvc\Start!=W=2
I click "fix problems" but every next day,there is a new registry entry.Except this,the scan finds a Zlob.VideoAccessActiveXObject.I am a beginner at all these stuff,so i would be very grateful if someone could explain
what are all these registry entries and what is actually happens in my pc.I also want some good advice of how to get rid of the problem....i will appreciate your assistance...thank you

Please post a HijackThis log to here:
  • Click here to download HijackThis.exe
  • Save HijackThis.exe to your desktop.
  • Create a new folder named HijackThis to your desktop. Move Hijackthis.exe into that folder.
  • Run HijackThis.exe
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
  • Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a NotePad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
  • Choose your usual account.
Once in Safe Mode, double-click on SmitfraudFix.exe
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.

You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.

The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into Normal Windows.
A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.
The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #3 - Delete Trusted zone by typing 3 and press Enter.
Answer Yes to the question "Restore Trusted Zone ?" by typing Y and hit Enter.

Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.

Warning : running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background.

Run HijackThis, click Do a system scan only, and check the box next to each of these entries if still present. Close all other windows and press Fix checked. If something isn't there, please continue with the next entry in the list.

  • Under Main choose: Select All

Restart the computer.

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    • Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:
    • Scan Archives
      Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:
    • Select My Computer
  • This will program will start and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    • Now click on the Save as Text button:
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post.

better now

the system used to run unusually slow but now it runs quite faster...(actually
i was forced to uninstall norton as it said that there was a subscription error...was that because of the virus?).Actually,i have o lot of questions...Were these registry entries made by norton?(windows security center disabled)...or a malicious program made registry entries at last?anyway,the condition of the pc seems
better now...are there any steps further? thanks for your assistance so far...:bigthumb:

it is good that you removed Norton as you already have AVG Antivirus running. Running two antiviruses can cause all kinds of problems.

It is possible that Norton has shutdown Windows firewall etc...

You could post a one more HijackThis log and I'll have a look :bigthumb:
