ok, I'LL try those hints, It puzzles me as to what changed on my computer ? I have not added any new drivers or hardware.

I have had flash uninstalled but some pages still run at 99% and lock my computer up, this page is particularly troublesome:

I'm still confused as to what might be causing this.

I ran IE with add-ons disabled, even though it runs at 99%, it does it for a much shorter period of time, i wonder if there is an add-on that is corrupt.

Hard to say anything else than this issue likely isn't malware related. If Firefox runs in the same way like IE with addons enabled then it's not likely addon related (unless both browsers have some same addon installed). Anyway, you may want to post at Tech Support Guy. They for example have areas for non malware problems too.
