First I need to know what this is? Is this a different computer? I sent a private message to ask about this but have received no response? Posted: Yesterday, 10:22

Spyware Doctor: I have no idea what it is finding? Cookies, I don't use the program, you see what the scans are showing you? Do you pay for this? I have heard of SD finding stuff to get a purchase before.

Windows firewall: you must run a firewall, most experts suggest a third party firewall. I will provide information in a moment, after you view it, if you still have questions, let me know.

Hijack this <<< I have had my copy for ten years, it does more that present a HJT log, here is a tutorial:

Yours to do what you want with.

AFT cleaner <<< best free, small cleaner available, do what you wish with it.

mbam <<< free and yours to keep if you wish.

WindowsXP-KB310994-SP2-Pro-BootDisk-ENU file? <<< you are finished with the installer, delete it.
When I reboot, a full screen, black screen with white writing flashes very quickly
all of my computers do that, sure you just never noticed it before?
Is there an anti-virus program you would recommend?
Read what the experts have to say, I personally run AVG 8 free on my computers.
When tea timer is turned on it has been using 100% of my cpu
can't help with that, I run SpywareGuard, not TeaTimner. I have not heard of this, ask questions about TeaTimer in the Spybot forum:

Also, it seems the computer is running 45-48 processes;

I couldn't find this thread and assumed it had been deleted when I posted the second thread. then I found this thread, but couldn't figure how to delete the second one, so yes its the same problem.
I was not aware that a private messages could be done (I don't know how to chat or text & this is the first forum of any kind I've ever been involved in), sorry I missed it.
My internet wireless provider (in the marina) also doesn't like windows firewall, so yes please provide info on which you suggest, and how to turn off the windows warning, please.
No this computer never did the black screen before, but maybe there was no restore console?
I'll stick w/ AVG then, it came on the computer & I knew nothing about it.
If spywareguard is less invasive, I'll try it.
Thanks again, you are truely a lifesaver.

Thanks for that information, I will trash that topic.

Just click your helpers name and a private message is the second choice.

Perhaps they are providing a firewall with their service. You really should ask them, I'll post the links, but if their program objects to the Windows Firewall it will probably have problems with others. I would pin them down and find out what they suggest you run for a firewall.

If you decide to use SG, leave TeaTimer diabled, they do about the same job.
