Hello

  • Download Brute Force Uninstaller to your C:\
  • Unzip it to a folder of its own (C:\BFU). So BFU should be on your root. In most cases this is C:\
  • Download qoofix.bat (rightclick on this link and choose save as)
  • Place qoofix.bat in your C:\BFU - folder. (Important!)
  • Doubleclick qooFix.bat, Close all browsers and explorer folders.
  • Choose option 1 (Qoolfix autofix) and follow the prompts.
  • Please be patient, it will take about five minutes.
  • After the PC has restarted please post another hijackthis log.

OK..here is new HJT log. I also noticed autoruns doesn't have ygtxjac.exe anymore. Thanks.

Its appears your not running an antivirus program ?

What version of suns java do you have ?
Sun Java V1.5.0_06 is Available: http://java.com/en/index.jsp
Afterwards Turn off it's auto-updater,(Its buggy) , in control panel java >
update tab uncheck its option to update automatically.
After you install the newer version its important to uninstall the old versions, via addremove programs.

Hello,

After having hijack take care of:
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)

I seem to be done with pop ups, although they weren't real bad to begin with....so it's kind of hard to be sure. I tested it by going to 5-6 websites, and got no pop ups.

I am now running the latest java version. I was running 1.4.2 I think. I removed it after getting the latest and greatest.

Norton antivirus is on the best buy shopping list for today :)

Thanks a million

I'm glad you said something....what do you recommend? Keep in mind that I really am not online that much...dial up connection...ugh....thanks to where I live out in the middle of nowhere.....and on somewhat of a budget so I don't want to spend too much to try to protect a $299 dell special :D

AVG, Avast or antivir are free, they and a free firewalls are mentioned in that article i linked you to.

Dont install more than one of each though.

Stay safe

Im Glad we could help
Since the problems are solved Im going to close the topic now, this keeps others with similar problems from posting there logs/question here, they should start a new topic.

If you should need to post another log for the same PC let Me or Tashi know.
