It just freezes

How come the program just freezes when I try to scan my computer? Sometimes it almost finish, but othertimes it just get halfway.
Then I have to cut the power to my computer, and restart

Yes its never at the same place. I have Spybot on my own computer and it works fine.

Which version of Spybot do you have?If you're not sure,you can open Spybot,click Help,then About.
And what version of Windows do you have?

And,do you know if your computer uses hyper-threading technology?
