The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Babylon.Toolbar" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Babylon Toolbar is a useless toolbar that gets installed by other software, for instance FoxTab Videoconverter. Legal age for installation is 18 while this fact is only mentioned in the terms.
Babylon Toolbar installs itself to the system, the Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome. The Babylon.Toolbar is almost identical to Toolbar.Facemood. Some affiliates like MediGet also install Babylon and the Babylon Toolbar without proper user consent using a count down timer to start the installation.​
Removal Instructions:

Desktop:

Please remove the following files from your desktop.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Shortcuts named "Music Converter.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\MusicConverter\AudioConverter.exe".
Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.
  • Products that have a key or property named "{83AA2913-C123-4146-85BD-AD8F93971D39}".
  • Products that have a key or property named "Music Converter".
Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$FAVORITES>\Links\Suggested Sites.url".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Mozilla Firefox 4.0 Beta 4\searchplugins\babylon.xml".
  • The file at "<$SYSDRIVE>\user.js".
  • The file at "<$WINDIR>\Installer\da687.msi".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Babylon.Toolbar uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.
  • The directory at "<$APPDATA>\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\6s2i4rvf.default\extensions\ffxtlbr@babylon.com".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\MusicConverter".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Babylon.Toolbar uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "escort.escortIEPane.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "escort.escortIEPane", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "escort.escrtBtn.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "esrv.BabylonESrvc.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "esrv.BabylonESrvc", plus associated values.
  • Delete the registry key "{2EECD738-5844-4a99-B4B6-146BF802613B}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{2EECD738-5844-4A99-B4B6-146BF802613B}" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Settings\".
  • Delete the registry key "{2EECD738-5844-4a99-B4B6-146BF802613B}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
  • Delete the registry key "{35C1605E-438B-4D64-AAB1-8885F097A9B1}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • Delete the registry key "{44C3C1DB-2127-433C-98EC-4C9412B5FC3A}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{4D5132DD-BB2B-4249-B5E0-D145A8C982E1}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{4E1E9D45-8BF9-4139-915C-9F83CC3D5921}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • Delete the registry key "{55555555-5555-5555-5555-550055225558}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{6E8BF012-2C85-4834-B10A-1B31AF173D70}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • Delete the registry key "{706D4A4B-184A-4434-B331-296B07493D2D}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{8BE10F21-185F-4CA0-B789-9921674C3993}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{94C0B25D-3359-4B10-B227-F96A77DB773F}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{97F2FF5B-260C-4ccf-834A-2DDA4E29E39E}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{98889811-442D-49dd-99D7-DC866BE87DBC}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{98889811-442D-49DD-99D7-DC866BE87DBC}" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Settings\".

  • Delete the registry key "{E77EEF95-3E83-4BB8-9C0D-4A5163774997}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{FFB9ADCB-8C79-4C29-81D3-74D46A93D370}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "20E71B53321C641458DBDAF83979D193" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\UpgradeCodes\".
  • Delete the registry key "3192AA38321C641458DBDAF83979D193" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features\".
  • Delete the registry key "3192AA38321C641458DBDAF83979D193" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\".
  • Delete the registry key "45FC9EFC5C3366B4DB850DAB49330C52" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\*\Components\".
  • Delete the registry key "4B2468513CA2D6943A1A233CD3F88CE7" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\*\Components\".
  • Delete the registry value "{98889811-442D-49dd-99D7-DC866BE87DBC}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\".
  • Delete the registry value "3192AA38321C641458DBDAF83979D193" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UpgradeCodes\20E71B53321C641458DBDAF83979D193\".
  • Delete the registry value "3192AA38321C641458DBDAF83979D193" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\*\Components\1DA5BD2D3CA2D6943A1A233CD3F88CE7\".
  • Delete the registry value "3192AA38321C641458DBDAF83979D193" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\*\Components\7E98451C7CA808F47AFE467BDABD02FA\".
  • Delete the registry value "3192AA38321C641458DBDAF83979D193" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\*\Components\BFD11FD45FC7B9E46A8F4B69F3A66E35\".
  • Delete the registry value "3192AA38321C641458DBDAF83979D193" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\*\Components\D5979AD63CA2D6943A1A233CD3F88CE7\".
  • Delete the registry value "3192AA38321C641458DBDAF83979D193" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\*\Components\DF9BD2952384A9C49B4A5D3D95329890\".
  • Delete the registry value "3192AA38321C641458DBDAF83979D193" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\*\Components\FABA2A33488410A4AA40489BD2224282\".
  • Delete the registry value "AppName" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Low Rights\ElevationPolicy\{8375D9C8-634F-4ECB-8CF5-C7416BA5D542}\".
If Babylon.Toolbar uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.

Browser:

The following browser plugins or items can either be removed directly in your browser, or through the help of e.g. Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer.
  • Please check your bookmarks for links to "babylon.com".
  • Please check your bookmarks for links to "searchya!".
  • Please check your bookmarks for links to "searchya.com".
