The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Fraud.SecurityInspector2010" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Fraud.SecurityInspector2010 claims to be an antispyware tool. When it is installed to the computer it finds a lot of harmless entries in order to frighten the user and make him buy a license to get the issue fixed.​
Removal Instructions:

Start Menu:

Please remove the following items from your start menu.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Items named "Security Inspector 2010.lnk" and pointing to "<$APPDATA>\Security Inspector 2010\*.exe".
Important: There are more start menu items that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Quicklaunch area:

Please remove the following items from your start quick launch area text to the "Start" button in the taskbar at the bottom.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Quicklaunch symbols named "Security Inspector 2010.lnk" and pointing to "<$APPDATA>\Security Inspector 2010\*.exe".
Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "Security Inspector 2010" and pointing to "?<$APPDATA>\*\*.exe*".
Important: There are more autorun entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.
  • Products that have a key or property named "Security Inspector 2010".
Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$APPDATA>\Security Inspector 2010\taskmgr.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\Security Inspector 2010.lnk".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\Security Inspector 2010\Activate Security Inspector 2010.lnk".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\Security Inspector 2010\Help Security Inspector 2010.lnk".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\Security Inspector 2010\How to Activate Security Inspector 2010.lnk".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\Security Inspector 2010\Security Inspector 2010.lnk".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Fraud.SecurityInspector2010 uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

  • The directory at "<$APPDATA>\Security Inspector 2010".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMS>\Security Inspector 2010".

You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • Delete the registry key "Security Inspector 2010" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
If Fraud.SecurityInspector2010 uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
