my firefox/IE wont start and pc shutsdown own its own:

it started with my firefox when i tyied to open it , it said

the instruction at "0x8c23937a" referenced memory at "0x8c23937a". the memory could not be "written".
click ok to terminate program.

i thought it was just that the browser got corupted but IE wont go nowhere either, all my restore points are gone (that is- when sys restr decides it wants to open up). also sometimes after a minute or two the sysem gives a messgae saying that it has to shutdown giving me like 60 seconds to save anything, and says it was initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM and something about a DCOM SERVER

and my s&d doesnt seem to find anything , and its updated.
.
this is my hijackthis log

Hi,

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    1. DDS.txt
    2. Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

Download GMER here by clicking download exe -button and then saving it your desktop:
  • Double-click .exe that you downloaded
  • Click rootkit-tab and then scan.
  • Don't check
    Show All
    box while scanning in progress!
  • When scanning is ready, click Copy.
  • This copies log to clipboard
  • Post log in your reply.

im not sure how to disable script blockers, I have IE obviously but i use firefox primarily. as i stated before my desktop wont run the firefox browser and the ie freezes after opening. so the best i know how to do under these circumstances, is to lower the security 'slider' all the way down, in i.e.'s security menu. hope that's enough, if not plz help me out with that.

after 2 attempts at gmer the windows os (presumably) would say that gmer was a corrupt program and to run scn dsk , and would freeze my desktop pc.

but i did some clever pre-work and had the readme in the flashdrive im using open and ready for a quick ctrl-v.

also will this rootKey problem transfer over from my flashdrive on my desktop, to my laptop im using which is the only pc in my home that doesn't have internet access disabled by the ...watever this is?

Hi,

Please archive GMER log into a zip file and attach it to your reply. You seem to have run SDFix earlier there. Please post back its report (don't run it again but post the report from previous run).

about sdfix i ran it under the direction of shaba last year wen i downloaded a vundo accidently, and when I first noticed a proble i might have accidently runn it again but i dont know where the log would be. im really sorry:(

about the gmer log i was gona ask you if u wanted me to fax it to you, as im not sure that its not uninfected, granted i might be a lil paranoid right now , anyways i dont mean any offense when i say to be careful downloading this, as i know your an expert, i just dont want to cause any more harm...

Hi again,

Ok. Let's move to cleaning part next :)

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running ComboFix tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

  1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
    Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

  2. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

C:\ComboFix.txt
New dds.txt log.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

i don't mean to waste your time, but i have an extremely important engagement tonight, but ill be back in three hours, and have all night, to do this, again thanks so much for helping me , you have no idea how greatfull i am. again i apologize but ill be back in 3 hours.

I was reading the combofix instructions and there might be a problem i dont have internet access on my infected desktop and the instructions say

Once the Windows Registry has finished being backed up, ComboFix will attempt to detect if you have the Windows Recovery Console installed. If you already have it installed, you can skip to this section and continue reading. Otherwise you will see the following message as shown below:

At the above message box, please click on the Yes button in order for ComboFix to continue. Please follow the steps and instructions given by ComboFix in order to finish the installation of the Recovery Console. Once it has finished installing, you will be presented with the screen shown below.

i dont know if i have this ' Windows Recovery Console ' on my XP SP2

do how do u want to proceed?

I'm having a hard time with the installation of this recovery console, as i stated my desktop has no internet access, and its old, as the original xp cd is pretty much lost, and my floppy drive hasn't worked for years. i follwer the instrucion for on the link and it sends me to get a Setup disks for a floppy boot, i dont know if this is what i need but as i continue and get what im being led to get, i go to this link which is for a xp pro sp2

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...8D-5E10-49B5-B80C-0A0205368124&displaylang=en

and download the software, transfer it over with my usb flashdrive, and it asks what drive to put it in.

now in my computer there like 3 extra drives that arent supposed to be there, and my dvd-rom drive, when i try to access it, it says that access is denied.

so im between a rock and a hard place here.

Hi,

Let's attempt to run ComboFix without recovery console installation.

Again, I apologize for the confusion It seems i didnt read the combofix directions completely, as i didnt know to drag/drop the file into combofix directly.

however I did and ran the program and it asked me to write down the names of each rootkit file found:

c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\hjgruidorjuenx.sys
c:\WINDOWS\system32\hjgruiwysvaqer.dll
c:\WINDOWS\system32\hjgruiskglkxxu.dat
c:\WINDOWS\system32\hjgruicnloyhed.dll
c:\WINDOWS\system32\hjgruiajapumjq.dat

after restart i think it tried to give me an option to start in recover console, but it changed too fast to do anything, (like 1 1/2 secs)

Close all browser windows and refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe
Then post the resultant log.

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

Uninstall this vulnerable Java:
Java(TM) 6 Update 7

Uninstall old Adobe Reader versions and get the latest one (9.1 + update 9.1.2 for it) here or get Foxit Reader here. Make sure you don't install toolbar if choose Foxit Reader! You may also check free readers introduced here.
