Need help removing Click.Giftload

Thanks. It looks ok to leave it there :)

How's the system running now?

update

IE and surfing the net appears to be stable- but startup still takes forever. I still have 15-20 scvhost.exe processes running for no reason.

Hi,

It's normal to have bunch of svchost.exe processes running there (I have over 10 running at the moment too).

Now lets uninstall ComboFix:
  • Click START then RUN
  • Now copy-paste Combofix /uninstall in the runbox and click OK

Defragmenting hard drive may help with performance issues. For defragging I'd use 3rd party solution. Good commercial ones are PerfectDisk and Diskeeper. Of free options I recommend MyDefrag.

QUick question?

What about this that was found with ESET:

"C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\C\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\moved\aspimgr.exe.vir.vir

probably a variant of Win32/Agent.NEQ trojan "

Do i need to remove this? Did we actually clean anything else off of the computer?

DId combofix remove something for me?

Hi,

That's in ComboFix quarantined items. It will be removed when you uninstall ComboFix :)

ComboFix removed

GOt it - thx! I removed ComboFix and see that it remnoved the quaranteened file as well.

I will look intot the defrags that u mentioned. SHould I run another DDS scan?

spybot scan

Thx for all ur help!

IE stills seems to run a little slow. I ran a SPybot scan this morning and got a lot of tracking cookies. I let Spybot clean them up. Are those tracking cookies are results of normal internet surfing or remnants of the Trojan?

I attached the Spybot report if you have time to look it over.

THx,

Yes.

IE 9 might work better. Also, it's good to know that addons may slow the browser down too.

Spybot report ?

Thx. One more question. Looking at the Spybot Report, in the includes section I see some references to Trojans. Can you tell me what this is about?
