Newbie with a problem

I've been using S&D without a hitch for several years. Recently, my scans get hung up about 6000 files into the scan always at CoolWWWSearch. From that point the scan runs so slow that it takes about 15 hours to complete (if I allow it to continue running.) Could there be a bug causing this? I noticed that there is another thread where someone talks about his machine getting hung up about 1/3 of the way through a scan.

Please offer some advice.

Ok I'm not saying this will work, but seems you mentioned CWS lets rule that out or get rid of it.

Go to trendmicro or download.com and get CWShredder. Before you run it, set your folder options to display hidden files and extensions for known files.

Then run CWShredder. It may pick something up, you never know. If it does then try S&D again.

Ruled out CWS

I ran CWShredder. The machine was not infected. What should I take as the next step?
