old problem on my lap top

A while ago i got some virus that prompted me to buy their software to remove it. i was told to use superspyware at the time and it seemed to remove the problems but theres still some side effects. Like (im on Windows XP) where the clock is at the bottom right corner it says (VIRUS ALERT!) the clock can only be in army time, i cant access some of my settings like my resolution, it says (the system administer disabled the display control panel) Am i stuck with these side effects?
