pc running slow and poorly

i have a sony vaio 2.8 1gig ram and a fiber optic connection (15000/3000)

pc is running slow and poorly. i have avg and spybot...spyubot wont fix myway.mywebsearch plus i cant acess add remove programs...list wont populate?

any help?

However, can you remove the entry via SAFE MODE? Did AVG detect anything? Is AVG up-to-date?
