It might be best to reinstall Firefox completely. Backup bookmarks and then uninstall with "Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations" option selected. After that reinstall latest Firefox version.

Hi,

How did the system run when AVG wasn't installed?

Please see how the performance is when IE is launched in no addons mode:
Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)
 
It seems to be working fine with addons disabled,
What I have noticed is that when it slows down, it is slow on both ie and firefox. I am on a shared wifi network, when we started this case I was on a verizon wireless card.I was on this shared network a couple months ago and did not notice this problem.I guess it could be connection, sometimes I get a message that has timed out while trying to go to a webpage, it is slower then dialup sometimes.

Did you run and follow Secunia PSI program instructions I asked you to run earlier? Skype 3.6 at least if outdated and should be replaced with latest version (if you still use the program). One of addons there is from Skype.

I ran the secunia program today, I must have missed it before, I fixed everything that it suggested to fix except an older version of firefox that i uninstalled a couple days ago.I dont know why that came up.I dont use skype anymore.I will update in a few days or if I continue to have problems.

You could try to uninstall all Firefox versions and then run Secunia scan. If all clear, reinstall latest Firefox.
