Random ad pop-ups PLUS hideously slow pc PLUS 'IE hs encountered a problem...'

Afternoon all.

I've had some excellent help on here over the last few years,and although this isn't quite as urgent as previously I could still do with some know-how!

I have windows XP, with AVG paid-for av. Popups are blocked but these advert sites keep appearing :-( Also, the system is incredibly slow, frequently freezes and often we get the 'Internet Explorer has Encountered a Problem and Needs to Close...' AV and spybot scans appear clear so I'm at a bit of a loss now... :hair:

Any help would be appreciated!

Consider posting in the Malware Removal forum and having someone take a look at your system.

If you decide to have an experienced malware removal specialist assist you, please follow the procedure in this link and produce a HijackThis log:After you have read those instructions, start your own thread in the Malware Removal forum, making sure to post the HijackThis log produced from those instructions.
