read only file / command prompt box appeared during update ?

I was running my usual twice a month update

a black command prompt box appeared it ran its course

I was able to update but I remember another box that said something about a read only file and asked if i wanted that changed

IM lost

should I just let it be or reinstall ?
did my firewall prevent an update to a new version ? I havent the faintesd idea what It was I saw .

I think that was what happened

I guess its ok to just let it be ?

the sscan ran as normal after that 'mishap'

In fact it doesnt appear that anythings wrong at least to my untrained eye but command prompt boxes and reda only blas make me feel threatened
