removal of dsl exploit failure

I try all the time to remove a DSO Exploit and it stays - never gets removed. Now when I click "Fix Problem" my computer crashes - happened twice, even after a restart. I have Spyware Blaster but this doesn't help. Suggestions?

The detections database has not detected the DSO Exploit for several months.

1. What Window OS are you running?
2. What version of Spybot-S&D are you running?
3. What is the latest detection update date?

Items 2 & 3 can be found by going into Spybot > Help > About.

Unremovable DSO Exploit

Spybot finds the same DSO exploit every time I run Spybot. I also use Spyware Blaster. I read a DSO Exploit has to do with Internet Explorer, which I rarely use. What does this spyware do and why can't I get it off my computer?

I believe that you are running and old version of the software and have not updated in a while. Please answer the questions posed in the above thread.

Trouble with upgrade

I have been updating with no progress for 3 1/2 hours under "Detection Rules" Also checked are "immunization database" and "Immunize fix" which the "update" will never get to. My reply was to aquire a newer version of Spybot S&D but this isn't happening. now the upgrade picture is back to the beginning of "Detection Rules". Plus I just put IE on my screen - maybe it will work -my OS is Windows ME and I use SBC DSL Browser most of the time, not IE. Any suggestions? Or is this DSL Exploit inerradicable?

Hi! I am using Spybot v. 1.3 and have Spyware Blaster installed (no other anti-spyware software) but Spyware Blaster doesn't seem to help. Also it says "no detection update installed"

I suggest that you upgrade to Spybot 1.4.

Install Spybot-S&D 1.4:

• Execute spybotsd14.exe download above.
• Do not change the default installation path of:
  • C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy
• Make sure that you updating Sptbot-S&D 1.4 before running a scan.
