I have downloaded dds and double clicked on it. It doesn't seem to be working - it doesn't produce any reports.

Please read the following information carefully.
IMPORTANT: Whatever repairs we make, are for fixing your computer problems only and by no means should be used on another computer.
To make cleaning this machine easier:
Download HijackThis
If you already have HijackThis installed, then you can just start it and create a logfile as described below.
Please post an Uninstall list.

- Continue to respond to this thread until I I tell you that the logs are clean!
- Please DO NOT uninstall/install any programs unless asked to. It is more difficult when files/programs appear or disappear from the logs.
- Please do not run any scans other than those requested and do not post any logs/reports unless specifically requested to do so.
- Please follow all instructions in the order posted.
- If you have any questions or do not understand instructions, please ask before continuing.
- Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
Download HijackThis
If you already have HijackThis installed, then you can just start it and create a logfile as described below.
- Go Here to download HijackThis Installer
- Save HijackThis Installer to your desktop.
- Double-click on the HijackThis Installer icon on your desktop.
- By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
- Click on Install.
- It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
- Once installed it will launch HijackThis.
- Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
- Click on Edit > Select All then click on Edit > Copy to copy the entire contents of the log.
- Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
- DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
- DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
Please post an Uninstall list.
In HijackThis:
- Click Main Menu
- Click on the Open the Misc Tools section button.
- Look under System tools.
- Click on the Open Uninstall Manager... button.
- Click on the Save list... button.
- It will prompt you to save. Save this log in a convenient location. By default it's named uninstall_list.txt.
- Notepad will open. Please post this list in your next reply.
When ready please post:
- Carefully describe any problems encountered while following these instruction.
- The HijackThis log
- The HijackThis unintall list
