Here's a question: Can a router such as a business might use host malware that can make copies of data or keylogs and then upload the data to a remote (criminal operated) computer somewhere? How about credit card stuff from data going to/from a server hosting an online shopping page?
How about the little DSL box that connects a home computer to the phone line?
I understand that https provides some protection from someone accessing data from outside your computer but does not protect from program/backdoor on your computer making a log which would not be encrypted and sending it off later.
