My computer has been running slow, can you help me figure out what the issue is?

I have the Norton Security Online package that comes with my DSL.

Please open HiJackThis and choose do a system scan only. Check the boxes next to ONLY the entries listed below:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, including browsers, so that nothing other than HijackThis is open, then click Fix Checked. A box will pop up asking you if you wish to fix the selected items. Please choose YES. Once it has fixed them, please exit/close HijackThis.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware here and save to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to:
    Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the log back into your next reply

Your logs looks clean. Did you use StartupLite? It's great little program (no need to install) to disable unnecessary startup entries :)
 
Hi,

It still seems slow. I only have 448 MB of RAM and runs at 2.16GhzTHink maybe that's part of the problem? I'm thinking maybe more RAM.

I did just do the StartUpLite. I do believe that will help at startup.

Any other suggestions to speed things up?
