S&D Spybot crashing

My Spybot is fully up to date. It "immunises" OK When I run "Search & Destroy", it finds a number of items, but just before completing the scan the program crashes. I now have a warning telling me that Windows has detected spyware infection. This warning advises me to install some anti-spyware tools - but the warning has spelling mistakes so I am somewhat suspicious of it.

Any ideas anybody please?
